About
I, Jim Evans, G3VDB, have finally got around to assembling some thoughts in one place. I have no doubt there are other more efficient ways of doing this, but this has kept my ageing brain active in learning some new software and techniques.
I hope you find something of interest here. You can also find out a little more about my radio activities at my qrz.com entries for G3VDB and 8Q7EJ. I have been fortunate enough to operate from Republic of the Maldives on a number of occasions, but that is a story in itself, which I hope to relate fully some day.

Website Construction
This is an old-fashioned “static” web-site, based on fixed files and photographs. It does not interfere with your computer in any way. There is no advertising; there are no cookies; it does not record your visits or how you progress through the site. There are no links to Anti-Social Media of any sort; I have no interest in them and their “Surveillance Capitalism” (though inevitably I find myself using the products of the Master of that Art).
The website is developed in Jekyll and edited with the markdown editor Typora. Basic Jekyll usage documentation is at jekyllrb.com.
As described in the footer, the site is hosted on Amazon Web Services S3 storage with AWS Cloudfront to provide the SSL certificates and distribution over https. I use the CSS Liquid Layout Template by Tech Altum with minor modifications.
You can find the source code for the jekyll Minima template at GitHub: minima
